The therapeutic properties of frankincense have been known for ages. It has a positive effect in treating emotional and physical disorders. Frankincense essential oil helps regulate sleep disturbances, alleviates feelings of anxiety and fear, and has an antidepressant effect.
The cosmetic benefits of frankincense are also evident. The oil tightens the skin and restores collagen levels in its tissues. It aids in combating scars and stretch marks. Frankincense oil is also recommended for hair and scalp care. It strengthens hair follicles, thereby promoting the growth of strong, elastic hair. The oil effectively eliminates dandruff.
Frankincense essential oil is used in the treatment of chronic rhinitis and sinus inflammation, exerting bactericidal and anti-inflammatory effects on inflamed lungs and bronchi. The remedy has a diuretic effect, alleviates inflammation of the urinary system, and regulates the production of sex hormones.

There is a faint church scent (barely noticeable, personally I would prefer more), the scent is deep and pleasant, the oil is excellent.
The scent reminded me of tea tree oil with a hint of citrus. It was very refreshing and not overwhelming. It didn't bring to mind any associations with a church at all! I added it to my cream along with myrrh. My skin reacted normally and I didn't experience any allergies. As for the effect, I'll be able to judge that later. I got it with the goal of restoring my skin between peels.
