The niche line Jovoy Paris has introduced another fragrance product, 21 Conduit St, centered around the theme of lavender. The composition emerged from a collaboration between perfumers Oli Marlow from Jovoy and Marie Schnirer from Laboratoire Maelstrom. They endeavored to recreate an especially vivid lavender scent, one that Oli has been familiar with since childhood. Since then, lavender has held a special place in the perfumer's work and has become the foundation of this new project.
The duo of specialists worked on a new take on lavender—a fragrance of contrasts created through the intersection of many facets, warmed by resinous shades and made even brighter thanks to the fresh spiciness of fruits. They aimed to reinterpret the classic British scent in a new way, a scent that can be encountered not only in a bottle of English cologne but also in tea-time scones or in bouquets of dried flowers from Norfolk.
Cool accents of sparkling orange, bold blackcurrant strokes, the warmth and slight bitterness of pine accords—these are the three pillars upon which the new lavender fragrance is based. Thanks to his encounter with Marie, Oli discovered the extraordinary properties of Javanese vetiver, which gives the fragrance's melody a smoky, earthy flavor.
In addition, the composition of 21 Conduit St includes notes of bergamot, grapefruit, rhubarb, fir balsam, amaretto, tonka beans, ambroxan, and modernized woody tones.
