Roja Parfums Dove Elysium Pour Homme Cologne captivates with an abundance of aromatic shades. The perfume's richness carries an Oriental flair, showcased through woody, fruity, and floral notes. Initially, in the fragrant mist of the men's cologne, one can detect bittersweet citrus sprinklings, surrounded by the rich spice of thyme. Galbanum adds a sharpness, while the fragrant nets of artemisia make one fall in love with the perfume forever.
The central accord is a magical intertwining of coniferous and herbaceous notes with the floral and berry freshness. Soft pink pepper makes this refined combination deeper and more voluminous. The cologne's enchanting base mesmerizes with balsamic and leather notes against a backdrop of charming vanilla-benzoin sweetness.
I have been trying to remember which fragrance from the early 2000s it resembles. I found them, tested them together on my skin. There is a lot in common with the scent Jil Sander for Men by Jacques Cavallier in Fabien Baron's bottle (gray) - both fragrances are works of art! The smell itself is pretty good. Elysium is slightly more modern, using grapefruit and lime instead of mint and ivy in Sander - it could have been mind-blowing, but it's just great. Why? In this fragrance, you get the maximum sensation of a cool dominant note of natural grapefruit, and just when you think it's a boring office scent, a mischievous spiciness appears and it becomes much more interesting. It's funny because the bottle is so cool to hold and look at, and it surpasses the perfume's scent, I think. It could have been the number 1 niche fragrance inside such a bottle, but it's just an excellent office men's fragrance... inside an incredible bottle.
Despite the abundance of notes, personally, it always smells the same to me - pleasant citrusy, but nothing out of the ordinary. Additionally, the eau de cologne version is weaker in terms of longevity, so spending money on it is not worth it.
