The experts at Triuga Herbal have crafted a splendid indigo powder for the ladies that not only dyes hair black but also significantly enhances its condition. Unlike chemical dyes, it does not damage the hair but instead restores its structure.
Indigo powder has been known since ancient times and was widely used in ancient civilizations for dyeing hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows. Like henna, it is made from the powdered leaves of a plant, but from indigo, not Lawsonia. Its composition is enriched with vitamins and biologically active substances that nourish the scalp, make the hair stronger, and give it a healthy glow. This natural plant-based dye helps create a flawless look!
To dye your hair in dark tones, mix henna with indigo powder and add water (not cooler than 80°C), stirring until it reaches a sour cream-like consistency. Apply the slightly cooled mixture to dry, clean hair and put on a warming cap. Choose the ratio of henna to indigo powder according to the desired color. The dyeing time ranges from 30 minutes to 2 hours. After dyeing, rinse your hair with water without shampoo. The final color appears after 24 hours. It is not recommended to dye light hair without henna.
There are two methods of combining henna and indigo – sequential and simultaneous.
For sequential dyeing, the hair is first dyed with henna as described above, and then with indigo. The indigo is prepared in the same way as henna, just before dyeing, but the solution should be slightly thinner. After the allotted time, wash the hair with warm water.
The holding time depends on the desired shade, on average:
- 15-20 minutes (for a light brown shade);
- 1-1.5 hours (for a chestnut shade);
- 2-3 hours (for an intense black color).
For simultaneous dyeing, pour the required amount of henna and indigo (50-200 g in total, depending on hair length) into a bowl, add boiling water, and stir until it forms a homogenous paste, with a thick sour cream consistency. To achieve the desired hair shade, a specific ratio of henna to indigo is used.
To achieve:
- a light brown tone: take 1 part henna to 1 part indigo; holding time – 30 minutes;
- a light chestnut tone: take 1 part henna to 1 part indigo; holding time – 1 hour;
- a chestnut tone: take 1 part henna to 2 parts indigo; holding time – 1.5 hours;
- a bronze tone: take 2 parts henna to 1 part indigo; holding time – 1.5 hours;
- a black color: take 1 part henna to 3 parts indigo; holding time – 4 hours.
When dyeing hair with indigo, it is not advisable to wash the hair with shampoo or any other alkaline substance for at least three days post-dye.
If the hair turns out darker than desired after dyeing with indigo, you can rinse it with water acidified with vinegar or lemon juice.

The best henna I have ever used.
I have bought this hair dye before. In my opinion, it is of good quality. However, I was surprised to find only 3 packets in the box instead of 4. I wonder why. It's a mystery. I checked everything at the store (without opening the box with the dye), but when I got home and opened it, there was a shortage. Next time, I will double-check everything. It's a small issue, but still unpleasant.
I really like this henna and indigo mix as it gives a beautiful shade. The only drawback is that it stains clothes, pillowcases, etc. after dyeing my hair. If anyone has experienced this problem, please share how you deal with it. Maybe there's something you add to the dye because the clothes turn blue, especially noticeable on light-colored clothing. Thank you Makeup for the fast delivery, you're the best.
This company produces excellent henna and basma. They are very easy to rinse out and do not leave any grass or large particles behind. They simply wash off the skin and do not heavily stain the scalp. The hair appears shiny after use. I highly recommend them.
Ladies, stop torturing your hair with chemical dyes. The most expensive and heavily advertised hair dye will not preserve the natural beauty of your locks. But I have managed to preserve mine thanks to henna and indigo. My hair is alive, shiny, and needs to be dyed (if there are grays) like blondes - every 1.5 months (until the grays grow out). And if there are no grays, then even less frequently. I am satisfied with the result. In another six months, I will cut off the damaged strands from regular dyes, and I will have beautiful hair with golden highlights (what should have been gray).
I dye my hair using a two-step process. The first step is henna, and the second step is indigo. This method effectively covers gray hair, provided that the indigo used is of good quality. Unfortunately, this particular indigo did not perform well, as the gray hair remained reddish after the henna application. It may have darkened by about 10%, but the rest of my hair, excluding the gray areas, turned out beautifully with a rich chocolate shade.
On a positive note, the delivery and customer service were excellent.
I followed all the instructions. I waited for an hour for it to brew, then applied it to my hair. I used it together with henna, using 2 parts of indigo and 1 part of henna. I kept it on for 3 hours. Unfortunately, it did not cover my gray hair (((( only the previously dyed hair with chemical dye took the color. Here's a photo.
The coloring effect is weak, it lasted for 3 hours - the hair darkened slightly. As for the care, it is good, the hair shines.
I am very satisfied with henna, thank you.
Not great (I've tried better, the roots barely darkened. I always dye them separately. Henna is amazing, no comments needed. But the indigo is average. Thanks to the makeup brand for the opportunity to try it! The service is always top-notch! ♥️)
I really like this henna. I have tried many others but ended up coming back to this one. The color doesn't fade, and the powder is very fine. I make the consistency thick like sour cream, and it applies perfectly to my hair. It doesn't drip or make a mess when applying, and it doesn't have a strong smell. It washes out easily from the hair. I add a teaspoon of indigo to 50 grams of henna, and it gives my light brown hair a chestnut color. However, if I layer it instead of just touching up the roots, it turns black. Of course, this may vary for each individual. In terms of price-quality ratio, this is my favorite.
I am very satisfied with this purchase. I made it without following the recipe. I always mix basma with znoy and ryazhenka, keep it on my head in warmth under a cap for 3-4 hours. The result was very pleasing.
I recently purchased henna from this same brand. I mixed it in a ratio of 1:3 as I wanted a color close to black. I am satisfied with the product as I didn't want to use cheap henna with indigo. After mixing it with hot water, I left it to steep for an hour. I kept it on my hair for 3 hours.
Good quality, fast delivery! Thank you!
Excellent henna. I used this company's henna and indigo to dye my hair in a 1:1 ratio. The result was a beautiful chestnut color. It effectively covered my gray hair. I highly recommend it.
Great henna. It hardly drips. The colorant is superb.
I followed the instructions carefully, but unfortunately, it didn't yield any results. I left it on my hair for 3 hours. I'm extremely disappointed, and I won't be purchasing it again.
My favorite, I've been buying it not for the first time. I mix it in a 1:1 ratio with the same brand's henna. The service is top-notch.
Great henna! Thanks to its fine grinding, it applies smoothly, washes out easily, and provides excellent coloration. I dye my hair with this henna alone, without adding any indigo, and I mix it with strong black tea. The color turned out rich and dark, without any green undertones. I am extremely satisfied.
The grind, and therefore the consistency, is amazing, but unfortunately that's where the merits end for me. I am 32 years old and have a lot of gray hair, and I have long been aware that it is "nuclear" - it even covers up certain chemical dyes. However, after reading enthusiastic reviews here, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, there was no miracle. I dyed my hair 3 times with a 2-week interval. The first time I used henna for 3 hours, then indigo for 2 hours. The second time I mixed them and left it on for 3 hours. The third time I used only indigo. Each time the result was the same - it only slightly toned down the gray hair and gave an awful shade. It's a shame, I will have to go back to chemical dyes.
One thing pleased me - contrary to the common belief that henna doesn't take well to hair previously treated with chemical dyes, it worked well on my hair immediately.
Not bad. It is much better in terms of durability than Khadi. After using Khadi, the results were hardly visible on the hair. However, this one actually colored the hair and lasted for a little while. Unfortunately, it has already started to fade (it has been two weeks).
After being disappointed with trying to achieve black (or at least dark) color with henna from other manufacturers, I decided to give this one a try. This henna is excellent! It truly gives a black color, unlike all the others I have tried. From now on, I will only be using this one!!!!
