The Pregnancy Test Strip (25 mIU/ml) is a quick, highly sensitive one-step test strip designed for self-testing, aimed at qualitatively determining human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in urine to detect pregnancy at early stages. For self-monitoring and In-Vitro diagnostic purposes only.
During the first two weeks of pregnancy, the level of a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) rapidly increases. The test strip can detect the presence of this hormone in the urine from the first day of a missed menstrual period.
The test strip can accurately determine pregnancy when the hCG level in the urine ranges from 25 mIU/ml to 500,000 mIU/ml.
Urine is applied to the test reagent (absorbent pad) and migrates through the absorbent material of the test strip. The labeled antibody-dye conjugate binds to hCG in the urine sample, forming an antibody-antigen complex. This complex binds with anti-hCG antibodies in the test zone (T) and produces a colored line when the hCG concentration is equal to or greater than 25 mIU/ml. In the absence of hCG, no line appears in the test zone (T). The reaction mixture continues to move through the absorbent device, past the test zone (T) to the control zone (C). The unbound conjugate binds with reagents in the control zone (C) and produces a colored line, indicating the test strip is functioning correctly.
