Before first use, sterilize the cup in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Be sure to wash your hands with soap beforehand. Fold the cup. There are different folding methods—try several to find the one that works best for you. Insert the folded cup and allow it to expand inside the vagina. Once inserted, the cup will open with a characteristic suction or popping sound, indicating it is properly positioned. If unsure, feel the base of the cup—it should be round or oval when correctly placed. If you notice dents or folds, the cup hasn’t fully opened. Gently grip the base of the cup (not the stem) and try to rotate it to form a suction seal. Once it’s in place, gently tug on the stem; if you feel resistance, the suction is established and the cup is successfully inserted!
