I chose shade 6.0 and got a very nice cool brown color on my grown-out natural long roots, with a slight reddish tint on my chemically dyed ends. Overall, I am very satisfied with the result. This is my first experience with this dye. The coverage of gray hair was not great, but next time I will follow the recommendation to carefully heat the dye with a hairdryer after application.
I really liked this hair dye, a lot actually. My hair is naturally dry, but the dye didn't dry it out too much. I chose the shade 8.4, but I left it on longer than the instructions said and ended up with a darker color than what was shown on the box. My natural hair color is ash-blonde, not dyed. The dye was very easy to use. I especially liked that it didn't have any strong chemical smells. It completely covered my gray hair and the color turned out even.
