The new fragrance Hinoki by Comme des Garcons takes its name from the Hinoki cypress – a tree that grows exclusively in Japan and is used in the construction of the most luxurious palaces, temples, sanctuaries, and the finest wooden bathing tubs. The unique scent was inspired by a visit to the world-renowned Tawaraya hotel in Kyoto. It was there that the perfumers had the luxurious opportunity to bathe early in the frosty morning in the fresh air, in the legendary wooden Ofuro tubs filled with warm, healing spring water.
