According to one version, the Eau de Parfum Mitsouko was named after a beautiful Japanese woman - the main character of Claude Farrère's novella "The Battle." Since its launch in 1919, many European fashionistas, intrigued by its mysterious and enigmatic scent, became interested in the culture and traditions of Japan.
The initial citrus notes of bergamot intertwine with the rich floral scents of noble rose and pristine jasmine, which, receding into the background, give way to the heart notes of lilac, peach, jasmine, ylang-ylang, and rose. The base notes feature amber, cinnamon, oakmoss, and vetiver, creating a subtle trail that envelops the wearer in a veil of mystery. The fragrance's composition is complex, with all notes blending harmoniously into a beautiful perfumery symphony, making it difficult to isolate and highlight any primary scents.
