I was initially satisfied with this hair dye, but after 1.5 years of using it, my hair along its length became extremely dry, and I had to cut it off. Over time, this dye excessively dries out the hair.
Good paint, beautiful color. However, it is not long-lasting at all. It lasted less than a month on the hair. It doesn't contain any oils or silicones for care. The only positive aspect of the paint is its health benefits. Because, of course, it won't damage your hair.
I have been dyeing my hair for the second time. The interval was about six months. I added 2 teaspoons of cold-pressed olive oil to one and a half packets of dye. The first time I dyed my hair without adding oil, and the color was more vibrant, but this second time the hair came out softer, which is important to me. I bought a laboratory water bath specifically for dyeing with henna to maintain the temperature regime. The color I achieve is a dark blonde, similar to my natural light brown, without any reddish undertones. I leave it on my hair for an hour and a half. It is important not to wash your hair for two to three days after dyeing, as this will help the color set well. I am very satisfied with this dye. For those with dry hair, try adding some oil. Be careful with adding essential oils, as they can give a reddish tone. You can find a list of such oils online. Using henna with oil is also more convenient, as it is more "pliable" and doesn't dry too quickly on the hair.
Updating my review after almost a year of use. At first, there was a wow effect: a decent natural brown color, not as trendy as commercial synthetic dyes, but still quite decent. It toned down the gray hair well, although it didn't completely cover it. I was willing to forgive all of this, including the high price compared to European prices, because of the natural composition. But... after a year, my hair became extremely dry, as if I had dyed it from dark brown to ultra blonde in one go. It became so stiff that when I lift a strand, it stays in place without hairspray. It feels unpleasant to touch and doesn't hold any style. In my case, there is no chance of hair growth. I had to cut it and get a short haircut. A year of hair regrowth has simply been wasted. Unfortunately. The care was professional, focused on ultra-moisturizing. The ends were trimmed with sharp hairdressing scissors; I never use a hairdryer or straightener. As for unexpected bonuses, dandruff and excessive sebum have disappeared, but this year I have also improved my diet, taken vitamins, and reduced stress in my life, so I don't think it's solely thanks to the product, but rather a combination of factors.
I haven't dyed my hair for about 4 years. Then I decided to slightly darken my hair. My natural color is dark brown. I bought 2 packs right away (ash brown, dark brown), but not from here. I checked the temperature of the mixture and followed the instructions strictly. The first coloring with the ash brown shade went well, the color was beautiful, but only until the first hair wash! After 3 washes, there was no trace of the dye left! After a month, I tried to dye it again with the darker shade, dark brown, but it didn't take at all! There was no result in terms of color, but it completely dried out my hair... Before the first dyeing, I had just cut my hair and there were no split ends at all! But after using this dye, my hair is in a terrible condition, it is very dry and splitting! Even though I read the instructions on the official website a hundred times and followed each step strictly! I really regret choosing this dye!
This product is amazing! I have been using it as my hair dye from 2013 to 2016. After that, I switched back to regular hair dyes, and my hair suffered. It was completely damaged. That's when I remembered Khadi.))) This dye makes my hair thick, nourished, shiny, and even sparkling! In the photo, I used the hazel walnut color, which perfectly matches my natural dark brown hair color.
I have thin, curly, dark chestnut hair with about 60% gray. For the past 6 years, I have been coloring my hair with ammonia-free dye. I started considering natural dye after noticing that my hair had become dry, despite using conditioners with silicones. I also experienced more dandruff and hair loss. The walnut mocha dye faded to a reddish-brown shade within 1.5 months. I used a sulfate shampoo to remove all the silicones, and did not use conditioner. The actual condition of my hair was even worse. It was extremely dry and lifeless. I washed my hair with KHADI organic shampoo and then proceeded with a two-step coloring process. I measured the temperature with a thermometer. First, I applied the HENNA, AMLA & JATROPHA dye for 1.5 hours. The color turned out rich, and the gray roots had a more reddish tone. I rinsed it with running water and the dye washed out easily. Then, I colored the roots and the entire length with GOLDEN BROWN dye for another 1.5 hours. I mixed the solution incorrectly, resulting in a paste that was too thick. It should have been more liquid. I rinsed it with warm water, without shampoo, of course. The result would have made someone with weak nerves panic and write reviews like "it's all ruined" and "never again in my life" )))) But not me. Overall, the color seemed very dark to me, but in terms of tone, it was very close to my natural color. I was just used to chemical dyes that made my hair 1-2 shades lighter. The hair was evenly colored in a dark chestnut shade, and the gray hairs along the length had a rich reddish color, as well as the gray roots. In addition, the roots (which had grown about 2 cm) also acquired a swampy-green tint in some areas. What did I do? Nothing, knowing that the color develops over several days. The next day, the swampy shade and the redness disappeared as if they had never been there. The gray hair was 100% covered, and the color was consistent throughout the length. I'm surprised myself, as I wouldn't have minded if the gray hair had been dyed one or two shades lighter, giving it a kind of highlighting effect. I really like the color - chestnut. In the sun, it has a beautiful natural shade, and the hair shines. The problem of dryness has not disappeared. It was being masked by conditioners, which I don't want to use now. So, in the evening, I apply 10 drops of KHADI oil to damp hair (because my hair is very dry). In the morning, I wash it with organic shampoo, rinse with water and apple cider vinegar, and dry my hair without a hairdryer, combing it with my fingers. People with curly hair are lucky with this. The hair roots colored with henna are softer and livelier. I think I will cut off all the chemically damaged hair in two years. The obvious benefits so far (5 days after coloring) are: beautiful natural color, shiny and vibrant hair, hair that simply glows in the sun, fluffy and soft hair (thanks to the oil mask), no dandruff, itching, or excessive hair loss. When washing my hair, the water remains clear, and the dye does not wash out. I think it is very important to follow the recommended temperature for brewing the dye and applying it to the hair (using a water bath). Also, the henna should be fresh. By the way, I didn't apply any cream before coloring. I just wiped my forehead and ears with a damp tissue after coloring. Two spots on my neck, which I didn't notice, came off without any problems after 1.5 hours.
The first two weeks were fine, the color was nice and bright. However, after that, it started to fade very quickly, and you could see gray hair. I leave the dye on my hair for 2.5 hours and follow all the instructions properly.
After using chemical dyes, my hair was severely damaged and started to fall out. Today I tried Khadi for the first time - there are no limits to happiness! The color is very rich and deep, my hair is shiny like never before! Thank you to everyone who left positive comments and reviews - it helped me make the choice. The photo was taken right after dyeing. I also want to thank Make Up for their excellent service and fast delivery.
I have been dyeing my hair for about a year now, and I really like it. However, I have realized that the color and shade are not for me, and I want to go lighter, closer to my natural color. I couldn't find anywhere on the internet if it is possible to go several shades lighter. I have been dyeing it with light brown and dark brown. I want a cool dark ashy color.
The shade "dark blonde" was a perfect match for my cool, natural hair color. I left it on for an hour and I am very satisfied with the dye.
Great paint, I used the ash brown and golden brown shades, without any red undertones. It doesn't wash out and leaves my hair vibrant and shiny. It covers my small amount of gray hair perfectly.
I am very satisfied with this hair dye and the quality of my hair after using it (I have used it 3 times already). I chose the ash brown color, which is ideal for me as it is slightly darker than my natural light brown. Initially, I was afraid of getting a reddish color or that it would wash out reddish like it happened to me with regular henna, but with this dye, everything is perfect, and there is no hint of a reddish color. The only drawback is that I would say it is a bit difficult to apply, as it doesn't have a completely creamy consistency, but that's just a minor issue.
I purchased this high-quality henna in a beautiful dark brown shade. It lasts long and doesn't leave any redness, rather it has a cool undertone. For covering grey hair, I recommend applying natural henna first and then the brown one, and the result will be amazing.
Great henna, but the price is simply astronomical.
Great paint. Many shades (which is not always available with natural paints), plus you can combine them, creating your own color. In general, these are paints that you can experiment with safely because they are completely natural. It's just a pity that it takes a lot of paint for my long hair. Almost a full pack (but the leftovers got me thinking about mixing colors).
I purchased the "dark brown" shade. It is a high-quality product, but unfortunately, it needs to be used almost all at once. Note for those with gray hair: it only dyes effectively with a two-step coloring process.
This paint is excellent - it does not dry out the hair, does not have a strong smell, and lasts for a very long time, just like an organic product. I highly recommend it.
The color "pure indigo" matched perfectly with my dark brown hair, which was a pleasant surprise. It added a subtle blue shade that was both unique and not too overpowering to the eye.
I decided to try the Medium Blonde shade, but honestly, it didn't meet my expectations. My natural hair color is a golden blonde with light ash blonde roots. The dye gave my lengths a yellowish tint, but it didn't cover my roots at all, even though I followed the instructions carefully. I'm considering trying to add some lemon juice to see if I can achieve a more noticeable result. It seems that this shade is intended for very light or gray hair. On the bright side, my hair did become stronger and healthier, it stopped breaking, and it gained shine and volume. So, as a strengthening treatment, it works really well, just not as a dye in my case.
Don't try to cover up your gray hair! I tried the light brown shade... yes, the dye has many advantages, such as being natural, easy to apply and wash out, and it gives a noble color. But henna+indigo does the same thing at a 1:1 ratio, just for a different price. In my opinion, the price for Khadi is greatly exaggerated. I'll repeat once again: it does NOT cover up gray hair!
I have been using this hair dye for two years now! I dye my hair with a light brown color and everyone asks me which dye I use, even hairdressers! When dyeing, I use water at 50 degrees and add a teaspoon of salt, it helps to cover gray hair better! I really like this dye! I have used different dyes before, but this one is simply amazing and, note this, no chemicals!
Excellent paint. I've bought it several times. Many thanks to the store for their promptness.
For 7 UAH, you can buy not just henna but also a dangerous product made of metal and chemicals that can harm your health. It can damage your liver and kidneys, and even lead to cancer. If you want to dye your hair, it's better to use red dye instead of pure henna, which is meant for covering gray hair. I personally mix various ingredients to achieve different shades: cocoa gives an ash-brown color, coffee creates a beautiful chestnut shade, and cinnamon gives a red tint.
Please read the instructions carefully, there is an official Khadi website. To cover gray hair, you can only do it in two steps. The first step is to apply pure red henna to the roots and gray hair, leaving it on for two hours and properly brewing it with lemon juice. No oil! If you have dark hair, you can darken it with coffee separately. Brew strong natural coffee and pour it into the dye, making sure to maintain the brewing temperature. You can let the dye sit in a steam bath for an hour in a slow cooker on the warming setting, or reduce it to half an hour. After coloring and after two hours under plastic wrap and a shower cap, rinse with water to dye the rest of the hair in the base color for one hour. You can add oil, but not olive oil, as it will wash out the color and may turn your hair green. Only dark chestnut will darken the gray hair more and should be brewed with coffee without adding oils. Yes, it's a hassle from 7am until 12 or 1pm, but the result is completely and permanently covered gray hair, you just need to touch up the roots each time. But the dye is worth it - beautiful shade and shine. As for chemically dyed blondes, don't risk it. At best, it won't take, or at worst, it will turn green.
Wonderful paint! This is my second purchase. Thank you so much for the gift. I wish the company prosperity and good luck!
"Pure henna - red" - at first glance, it looks like ordinary henna that you can buy for 7 hryvnias per packet at the store. I thought it would dye my hair, but maybe I was wrong. However, the effect is the same - it makes my scalp itchy and my hair feels like it's falling out, with a dull-copper color. I am disappointed and upset.
The hair dye did not cover the gray completely, but it's a good thing that there wasn't too much gray. I didn't want the color to be too dark, so I was afraid of leaving it on for too long, but 30 minutes was clearly not enough. Next time, I will leave it on for a longer time. However, after dyeing, my hair looks great.
In addition to yesterday's comment, I would like to say that all the green from my hair has disappeared and a beautiful dark brown color has emerged. So, the dye is good and my hair became thicker and more voluminous after using it. In general, it is better to dye your hair in the evening so that it "absorbs" the color overnight.
One positive aspect of this product is that it is natural. However, there are a few negatives: it is very inconvenient to apply and it tends to wash off quickly. Despite these drawbacks, I will continue using it for now.
I am far from being a professional, but I am used to doing everything at home by myself. I dyed my hair, which was bleached, lifeless, and looked awful. It turned green and I tried to wash it off but it didn't work. However, on the second day, the green color disappeared and surprisingly, my hair came back to life, shining and becoming denser. I am very satisfied because miraculously, my natural russet color returned, and after several dyeings, the color becomes even richer, more uniform, and darker. In short, I am happy that I finally got rid of the "patchiness" on my head, and my hair says thank you. Now, it's only Khadi for me!
The paint excessively dries out the hair. It should initially be applied only on healthy, non-porous, and undamaged hair.
Finally, I have found a hair dye that fulfills all of my requirements 100 percent! I have some questions: what a beautiful hair color is this and what do you use to dye it? Where did you get such a beautiful ombre? What do you apply to your hair to make it shine like that? Thank you to the store Maikap - it's Khadi. This dye worked wonders on my previously bleached and damaged hair, giving it a beautiful ombre, volume, and shine. I am simply delighted. Now, thanks to Khadi, I will try to grow out my hair length, as this is the only dye that effectively covers gray hair (pre-segmentation with pure henna for 2 hours is a must) and then the main color. I chose the Gold shade, and it truly is gold - not yellow, but golden! The shine is simply unreal.
By the way, the paint does not leak. It also completely dissolves when mixed with water and does not give the feeling of crushed grass when applied to the hair (like when using henna). The set includes gloves and a convenient cap for the head, which I use repeatedly.
I am very satisfied with this hair dye!! During my pregnancy, I was afraid to use regular dye, as well as ammonia-free dye, since they are equally harmful. I looked through options for vegetable dyes and settled on this one. I chose the natural chestnut shade - my hair is naturally blonde, previously dyed chestnut and very sun-damaged, yellowish-orange. The result was a magnificent chestnut color (not dark), and my hair shines beautifully. I used a third of the package for shoulder-length hair, and I had plenty left over. I left it on for 1 hour, as I didn't have more time. But next time, I will leave it on for 2-3 hours because I want the color to be slightly darker. And I will definitely try the dark brown shade as well.
I used to use regular henna before, but I didn't like how it washed out and the color gradually turned into a faded reddish tone. I decided to try this dye and I am absolutely thrilled! I chose the light brown shade and it turned out to be a deep chocolate chestnut color, without any hint of red. I am extremely satisfied!
In response to Lily from Kiev, please read the posts below. The process involves applying pure henna to cover gray hair for 2 hours, and then the main color is applied. I have already dyed my hair 3 times. Without prior henna application, the gray hair started showing after 2 weeks, but with pre-application, only the newly grown roots are gray. I try to dye my hair once a month, but I think it can be done every 3 weeks. This specific henna does not damage the hair.
The second dyeing after 1.5 months was simply amazing. The chocolate shine shade is a beautiful light brown color that I chose for my lightened russet hair. It covered 20% of my gray hair perfectly, and the shade turned out great. As advised, I will try a red color for pre-pigmentation next time. I also added salt to the water, as recommended.
Simply the best henna I have ever used.
Reply to Elena from Chernavtsi:
Regarding your question, I have experienced a 30% graying of my roots. I applied a light brown dye for one hour, considering that my hair was previously lightened and toned. The result was pleasing as the color appeared even and the gray hair was well covered. It has been three weeks since the coloring, and the gray hair has toned down and now has a slight yellowish hue. This is noticeable because I have been using an olive mask and applying amla once a week, in addition to washing my hair daily with organic shampoo and conditioner. Overall, I am very satisfied with the outcome, especially compared to chemical dyes where gray hair would start to show after 2-3 days.
