Palindrome III — an unexpected and original unisex fragrance with an oriental-floral harmony, launched in 2017 by the Spanish brand Santi Burgas as part of the "Palindrome" collection, created in collaboration with renowned perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux. A palindrome is a word or phrase that reads the same forward and backward. Such phrases are often attributed with mysterious, mystical meanings and are believed to have a protective effect on those who read them.
The fragrances in the collection are housed in black ceramic bottles, with only the logo remaining white as a symbol of eternal resistance. The outer black color acts as a protective shield for the luminous liquid within. The three Palindrome fragrances are full of light and hope, patiently waiting to be released to convey a message of harmony and peace. This shimmering, multi-layered composition is inspired by osmanthus, offering an intensified delight for the senses. Osmanthus is a small flowering tree of Chinese origin, whose tiny yellow flowers fill the air with a gentle yet rich floral and fruity scent reminiscent of apricots. Palindrome III uses a unique combination of two completely different osmanthus absolutes, providing a contrasting interplay between joyful and colorful fruity accents and deeper, richer leather notes. This olfactory dance oscillates between light and darkness, illuminated by sparkling mandarin, Jamaican rum, and davana, before descending into the shadows of smoky-aromatic labdanum, the spicy freshness of poplar buds, and the spicy-earthy aroma of patchouli. A surprising touch of the subtle scent of black olive adds a ghostly element to the composition, complemented by the elegant silky-spicy motifs of Bulgarian rose.
