The fougère family of fragrances holds a unique position in perfumery.

Its debut was marked by the release of the men's perfume Fougère Royale in France in 1882. "Fougère" translates to fern. Of course, the compositions of the fougère group don't actually smell like ferns—after all, who has ever smelled a fern?
