The luxurious cologne Eau de Basilic Pourpre from Hermes is a unique woody-fern composition born from a "blend of memories and desires". It is characterized by its sunny Mediterranean temperament, inspired by the aromatic spice of purple basil. Perfumer Christine Nagel describes her creation as a "wave of pleasure and freshness". Instead of reproducing the multifaceted scent of basil, she was guided by her memories and impressions of it. This is why the "image" of the key note in this composition is more poetic than real.
The cologne opens with the citrusy freshness of sun-kissed bergamot. Its solo performance gracefully gives way to the spicy herbaceousness of purple basil, intertwined with the bitter-floral accents of geranium. The fragrance concludes with resinous-earthy patchouli, seasoned with a pinch of sharp, piquant spices.
Amazing basil bergamot aroma. Refreshing and invigorating. However, it's not very long-lasting, so you have to reapply it frequently. It's a beautiful scent, especially for hot weather.
I bought a sample and now I can't get enough of it! I absolutely love the scent! It starts with a prominent basil note, followed by a luxurious base. It's not sweet, more of a unisex fragrance. It feels close to the skin.
I received a sample and really liked the scent. The first note is basil, which is strongly noticeable, then the fragrance becomes more pleasant, almost like it becomes a part of your body.
