Place the menstrual cup in a container with a disinfectant solution and fill it with water so that the cup floats.

Put the container with the cup in the microwave. Bring the water to a boil to ensure effective disinfection. Typically, 3-5 minutes on medium power is sufficient. Do not tightly close the container's lid during disinfection to allow steam to escape as the water boils.

Be careful when removing the container from the microwave, as it will be very hot. You can leave the container in the microwave to cool down.
