I bought this product on sale for comparison purposes. Previously, I had used citronella from other manufacturers (not the best ones, just whatever I came across). Citronella from Kvita is definitely stronger.
Some people say that the smell is pleasant, well, I wouldn't say that. It's like a citrus scent, kind of not unpleasant. But when you inhale it for a long time, it's really overpowering! I understand it works against mosquitoes and flies))) I had a friend over, and until I washed it off myself, she couldn't enter the room. My mom also gets dizzy from this smell. And I definitely won't be sniffing it unnecessarily.
They recommended it to me as a mosquito repellent, but I haven't had the opportunity to test it this year. They also said it works against ticks, but I have my doubts.
But I did manage to get rid of moths in my dresser! I brought them in with my clothes, and they flew out and hid somewhere. I mixed citronella with alcohol and sprayed it around the dresser for 2-3 consecutive days. I also placed cotton balls with citronella. On the third day, the disoriented moth came out in daylight and landed on the wall right in front of me. Well, that was the end for her. She didn't even try to resist (fly away). But if there are many moths, I'm not sure.. Because they just get disoriented, they don't die. Something like that.
In short, I am satisfied with this purchase.
This oil against mosquitoes and midges is very effective - they become sluggish, start bumping into walls, in general, it works :) Despite the critical remarks about the smell - even I, a man, liked the smell. Out of all the insect repellent oils, it is much better than melissa, lighter than levzea, lavender, and especially cloves (by the way, at Kvit's, it's so strong it makes your eyelids twitch and your hair roots tremble). And I just don't like lemongrass and geranium.
Nastya? It should smell like this! Genuine citronella!
When I first opened the bottle and smelled this fragrance, I didn't feel like applying it to my skin. But I love to put something on my acne just to make it go away faster, and I know how to do it and practice it. As it turns out, this product effectively tightens pores. When applied directly to the skin, inflammation subsides faster, and importantly, the skin doesn't become dry or flaky afterwards.
Over time, I may have gotten used to the smell, but now it's not unpleasant at all. Actually, it's quite nice. However, it doesn't seem to repel mosquitoes either. I haven't noticed any insect deterrence, except maybe it will repel some people.
Having no idea about the smell of citronella, after reading the "honest" reviews below, I started to doubt if I could do without it? (I need it for mosquito spray). Nevertheless, I decided to take a risk.
And I was really surprised that they called citronella stinky. In my opinion, the smell is quite fresh, citrusy-herbal, not overpowering.
In order to prevent the urge to vomit, which I wasn't used to, I decided to try out this foul-smelling lotion on my pimples, because I've tried everything else on them. I was amazed when my cysts, pimples, and the scars from popping them started to heal within a day and a half. I also noticed a side effect - it makes me nauseous when I smoke, even though I usually don't get sick easily. It even makes my husband nauseous because I smell like this vomit-inducing stuff. It seems like the saying is true, that what is beneficial is often repulsive. Girls, if you have persistent teenage acne, give it a try and write reviews, I'm curious to know.
Oh, to be painted - I bought it out of curiosity, as such a scent is not in my collection. It smells disgustingly, oh my, words cannot describe it - only buy it if you want to endure such an experience. The smell is so strong that it makes your liver and pancreas cringe. But it does help effectively against moths and mosquitoes.
