Aroma Lamp Candle Flora Secret

These candles are great. They last for at least 3 hours of continuous burning. The lamp heats up and the oil evaporates. They work excellently.

Here is how to properly light a candle: is it necessary to clean the candle before lighting it, including the wax filter? I tried lighting the filter, but it was completely covered in wax. The filter almost burned up and the candle barely flickered. The flame did not heat up the lamp, and the oil did not evaporate. The height of the lamp is 11 cm. Previously, I had bought an Aromatika candle, which also had a wax filter, but it did not burn up immediately like the Flora Secret one. Instead, it burned evenly for 4 hours. I don't understand what the issue is.
