Not directly on the hair at first, but first on the palm, then sort of patting it onto them - the mask becomes like a spiderweb in consistency, and then onto the hair (according to the instructions, I also apply it to the scalp). The results are amazing, even the dry ends of fine hair are perfectly detangled and feel pleasant to touch. Top-notch!
