Before using the cup for the first time, sterilize it in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Be sure to wash your hands with soap beforehand. Fold the cup; there are different folding methods, so you can try a few and choose the one that works best for you. Insert the folded cup and allow it to expand inside the vagina. After insertion, the cup will open with a characteristic suction or popping sound, indicating that it is properly positioned. If in doubt, feel the bottom of the cup—it should be round or oval when correctly inserted. If you notice any dents or indentations, the cup hasn't fully opened. Gently grasp the base of the cup (not the stem) and try to rotate it to create a suction seal. Once it's in place, try pulling slightly on the stem; if you feel resistance, the suction is established, and the cup is successfully positioned!
