They are made from latex, silicone, or, in the case of MeLuna menstrual cups, from high-quality thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). Before first use, sterilize the cup in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap beforehand. Fold the cup. There are different folding methods - you can try various ones and choose the one that suits you best. Insert the folded cup and allow it to expand inside the vagina. Upon insertion, the cup will open with a characteristic suction or popping sound, indicating that it is properly positioned. If unsure, feel the base of the cup - it should be round or oval when correctly inserted. If you notice any dents or folds, it means the cup has not fully opened. Gently grasp the base of the cup (not the stem) and try to rotate it to create a suction seal. Once in place, try pulling slightly on the stem; if you feel resistance, the suction is established, and the cup is successfully positioned!
