NOW Foods' Essential Oils "Star Anise" is derived from the distillation of dried parts or crushed seeds of the plant. The oil retains a sweet, spicy scent characteristic of anise seeds; it is colorless or slightly yellowish and quite concentrated. This oil is one of the main therapeutic essences for treating respiratory diseases, as anise boasts a unique dual action, serving both as a soothing agent and an expectorant. Anise oil not only eliminates congestive cough but also eases persistent unproductive cough and lowers fever. It most actively affects the entire digestive system, eliminating not just acute disorders but also stagnant phenomena. It also has a positive effect on kidney function, all organs of the urinary system, including facilitating the dissolution of stones. It has a sedative effect on the heart, helping to manage tachycardia, but carelessness can lead to dangerous conditions. Additionally, anise oil is used for loss of voice, gum inflammation, painful menstruation, and insufficient lactation. This actively acting oil is primarily utilized in products for sagging, aging skin. Anise helps revitalize fading skin, simultaneously normalizing the fat balance, promoting deep hydration, and increasing elasticity. In all cosmetic products, it can be used as an antiseptic additive.
Anise oil can also be used to repel and eliminate insects – from mosquitoes to cockroaches and moths.
It can also be used to flavor drinks, sweets, mixtures, for preserving vegetables, and in dishes made from milk or rice.
