I want to start by saying that I bought this product for makeup purposes. However, I still want to leave a review as there is nothing left from the old version except for the name. The texture of this foundation is quite dry on the skin, and it provides moderate coverage, around 3 out of 5. It looks natural and has a nice, lightweight consistency. However, the shade is terrible. It initially appears light but then oxidizes to a rusty garage color, which is definitely not cool.
I have been using Mary Kay foundation for about 15 years now. One tube lasts me around 3-4 years, and I am very satisfied with it. That's why I never risked changing to another brand. Last time, I had the previous range and my shade was beige 3. I found a shade conversion chart for the new range, and it suggested that beige C 110 would match my tone. So, I ordered it, specifically the matte version. And I made the right choice. The shade is a perfect match, it applies just as precisely as before, it covers everything and blends perfectly with my skin without standing out. I am very happy that even during times of war, I can still order my favorite product. Many of my acquaintances who used to sell this brand stopped, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find this shade anywhere. Thank you, Mary Kay!
"My best foundation ever! I always get asked what I use because it looks so perfect on my skin! I've been using it for 5 years and it's perfect for my combination skin with oily shine. The shade Ivory #160 is like my second skin! I am very fair. It's a pity that the price has increased so much for it.
The previous version was my favorite, but this updated one is a complete failure!
I have dry/normal skin, but I sometimes get breakouts.
I used it specifically on problem areas, it was super economical, lasted almost the whole day, and I never ran out of product before its expiration date. I always only used this for full coverage.
I was skeptical about the update (because why change something that was already great?) and for good reason. It's a total disaster.
It applies strangely, covers like a BB cream, layering does nothing except create a mask-like effect, I have to find a new shade because it doesn't match the old ones, and it disappears from my face throughout the day. The only plus is that it doesn't oxidize. I threw it away after a week of struggling with it. Very disappointing. And I had been using it for over 10 years..
I bought the Too Faced concealer for full coverage, it was expensive but it's okay.
I wanted to buy it based on the reviews, but I have a huge question: how do I choose the right shade? There seem to be some strange tones...
The entire Time Wise series is amazing... but this foundation holds a special place among other products... its exceptional feature is the MOISTURIZATION of the skin, so it lays on the skin PERFECTLY, allowing the face to breathe and providing a natural tone... and it doesn't leave any excess shine on the skin... It's a fantastic foundation for those with dry skin... It worked wonderfully for me, and I wish the same for you)
The shade is nice and looks very beautiful on the face, but it caused an allergic reaction all over my face - red rash and itching.
Perfect.
The choice of foundation is a very personal matter, but I have tried many different ones and then suddenly a friend recommended this one - so I ordered it. At first, I absolutely didn't like it and it just sat in my makeup bag. But then, when my usual foundation unexpectedly ran out, I decided to give this one a second chance...
You have to UNDERSTAND how it behaves. You should apply it sparingly and quickly, using your fingers to gently blend it into the skin. That's when it settles perfectly.
It doesn't clog pores, doesn't create a mask-like effect. You can apply it in two thin layers and it will be okay. It almost feels like you're not wearing any foundation at all. I don't even use a highlighter with it because this foundation gives a natural glow, especially if you apply it on top of an aloe base or with a damp sponge. The only downside is that you still need to use a concealer for specific problem areas because it doesn't fully camouflage imperfections. However, the texture is light, weightless, and truly adapts to your skin tone - I don't know how this magic works at all!
The matte foundation for oily or combination skin is simply a lifesaver. I have been using it multiple times and I am extremely satisfied. Throughout the day, my skin doesn't shine, even in +42 degrees heat outside. I highly recommend it for those with oily or combination skin.
This product caused a terrible allergic reaction with swelling in my throat, rash, and itching on my face. It's been three days now, and my skin is peeling off. I have never experienced anything like this with any other foundation.
This is the most nightmarish foundation I have ever purchased. I love trying out new foundations from time to time. I've tried various ones, including affordable ones. But this one was a huge disappointment. I didn't buy it online, I bought it from a consultant, and despite carefully selecting the shade, the cream's texture itself is poor. I have combination skin. If I apply a thin layer, it doesn't maximize the coverage for redness, pimples, or under-eye dark circles, but it does a great job of emphasizing dry patches. Even using a moisturizing base under the makeup doesn't help. On the other hand, applying a thicker layer is absolutely not recommended as it becomes like a clay mask, even with just a little bit of excess product. It doesn't adapt to the skin tone as the manufacturer claims. It accentuates pores and immediately sinks into them. If you have very oily skin, this foundation might work differently, but it's not guaranteed.
This product is simply perfect for dry skin. It is an excellent solution that seamlessly adapts to the skin without causing any irritation. There is no need to apply a primer or facial cream as the texture is specifically designed for dry skin.
I have been using this foundation for about 20 years. Everything was wonderful - silky texture, matte powdery finish. I applied it with a damp sponge. Now they have changed the formula and the result is not the same. When applied with a dry sponge, the coverage is not dense and it doesn't mask well. The finish is not powdery. After half a day, it all gets absorbed and there is no foundation on my face. I tried applying it again on top later in the day, and by the evening it was all absorbed again. When applied with fingers, the coverage is denser and it masks well, but the finish is not matte or powdery. It clogs pores and makes all the dry patches on my face visible (there are no dry patches on my clean face). The cream is visible on my face. I have to wash my hands 3-4 times and the foundation doesn't wash off completely from the sponge, neither the old one nor the new one. It blends better with a damp sponge, but I need to use more cream as it gets absorbed into the sponge. The overall effect is the same. By the way, the new sponge is larger, thinner, and less dense. The color correspondence is as follows: Beige 3 = Ivory N 140; Beige 4 = Beige N 150.
