If you do everything correctly, the time until you feel the burning sensation will gradually increase, with breaks for stress, periods, and illnesses. Rinse out toothpaste immediately with Listerine. Healthy people spit out Listerine and probably, as the manufacturer recommends (I am not one of them), do not rinse with water, but go to work or sleep. Everyone else should immediately balance the acidity in the mouth to the alkaline side, preferably with another mouthwash without baking soda and alcohol (Colgate Fluorigard, Act Anticavity).
