Mattifying Sunscreen Gel for Oily Sensitive Skin SPF 50+ La Roche-Posay Anthelios Gel-Cream

I bought this product 2 years ago and it was an amazing cream. I was really happy that I finally found what I needed, as it provided good coverage for my skin. However, when I bought it again this year, it was just terrible. It feels greasy and I can't understand how it can provide coverage for my skin. I even apply mattifying powder on top of it, but it's still not enough. Plus, it's quite expensive. I could have just bought a regular sunscreen with the same greasy effect. I'm completely disappointed. I bought it at a pharmacy.

It does not cause any swearing at all. I have oily skin, so it remains to be seen if it provides sun protection over time. I don't understand why they mention that it has a matte finish.

Clearly not suitable for oily skin, you apply it to your face and your face immediately shines like a pancake. It doesn't mattify at all, instead, it makes your face incredibly oily. It didn't work for me, so I'll be looking for another product.

I thought that I bought the same product in France a year ago. It had a denser consistency and left a powder-like effect (which I liked), and it was white. I ordered it again here, expecting the same, but the cream itself is yellow and leaves a satin finish instead of a matte one. I have oily skin prone to hyperpigmentation - freckles. I always suffered in spring and summer because my freckles would become even more noticeable and reddish. The pharmacy recommended me this product. I can say that I noticed my freckles lightening and that there are no more appearing, which is very pleasing.
I apply it in the morning with a thick layer under makeup. After a couple of hours, there is some shine, so I powder my face. But the most important thing is that it fulfills its function - protecting the skin on my face, even though I only apply it in the morning and don't have the opportunity to reapply it during the day. It doesn't clog pores on my problematic skin. It doesn't leave any unpleasant stickiness or greasy shiny finish. From now on, I will only buy this one.

Pros:

I have already tried the product. I have combination skin with an oily T-zone. The product has a light consistency, so it is easy to apply (like a regular face cream). I don't know why there are so many comments about difficult application and absorption on the skin! It is odorless. There is a slight mattifying effect, which is what I expected, as it is difficult for any specialized product to deal with my T-zone... and I mainly expect sun protection from this. And I rely on the quality of La Roche, whose Effaclar series I love very much.

After reading so many positive reviews, I expected more from this product. I'm not sure if I will buy it again. The texture is just like a regular cream, I didn't see any gel-like aspect. The finish is truly matte after a couple of minutes, and it doesn't feel heavy on the face (don't expect it to be like a serum or gel, especially for sun protection). I have normal skin and it doesn't make me look oily. There is no fragrance, I don't know what others are talking about, I couldn't detect any smell. You have to take the right amount and distribute it quickly while massaging. Even then, I noticed some white streaks on my face in certain areas. Applying two layers or reapplying is not possible as it tends to slide off. Makeup doesn't adhere well to it, I tried different concealers with different application techniques, but it still slides off, not as much as other creams, but I couldn't even wear minimal makeup on top, except for mineral powder. I haven't tried applying foundation because I don't use it, but I think it would be the same. The tinted version of this cream on my fair skin looks dark orange. So, overall, it's a comfortable sunscreen, but personally, it didn't work for me on a daily basis. I will continue to search for my preferred option. However, if you're going to the beach without wearing makeup or if you don't wear any, you can confidently use it as it provides good protection and feels comfortable.
