Guerlain Shalimar Eau de Parfum

I have read the reviews, and personally, I don't understand how such masterpieces can receive bad reviews?!?! Chanel, Guerlain - these are classics that one needs to grow into or have good taste! It is a masterpiece! There are no tires or anything like that! It is a divine elixir in a bottle!!! As for the toilet water, it didn't really please me.... But I am to blame myself, I know that the toilet version is not for me... But the perfume water - it's superb! Gentleness! Femininity! And even those people who usually suffocate from my perfumes appreciated this one! Divine Elixir!

I am currently on my honeymoon with Shalimar. Head over heels in love... This fragrance is like a rich pyramid, and the way it smells on the skin is incomparable - sweet, delicate, and very luxurious.

It's not a girly scent. It embodies femininity to its deepest depths. You can feel the elegance and ode to mature femininity in it. I adore it...

I bought the sample in May. I tried to sniff it a few times - not my thing, that's it! Just one smell of rubber, that's all. I put it aside and forgot about it. And now I came across it again, in November, when it got colder outside - and I didn't recognize it. Where did the burnt tires go? I don't feel any rubber at all. It's like lemon in syrup, like mulled wine, I don't know, a cozy scarf that you want to wrap yourself in... From this, I conclude that (for me) it's a winter fragrance.

I am just delighted and fully agree that this perfume is a masterpiece. There is nothing more to add to the already positive reviews, but one simply needs to have refined taste in order to love and enjoy this multifaceted aroma!

I believe that perfume has no age. There are stereotypes, associations, and impressions. And Shalimar is a masterpiece that has been reinterpreted and filtered for almost 100 years now. Infinitely beautiful, contradictory, and prestigious.

I recommend starting with the Eau de Parfum version, and if it seems too heavy, move towards younger soufflés and illuminators. Intense versions are sweeter, Initials are more powdery. Colognes and EDTs are more vibrant. If it doesn't click right away, it simply means that the time hasn't come yet.

I purchased this product in December 2020. It is absolutely not long-lasting! I had the same experience with Guerlain L'Heure Bleue (I bought it here around 2018). In all fairness, I must admit that the same fate befell me when I bought Chanel No. 5 (not here). I bought a tester and, honestly, I reassured myself that the lack of longevity was due to purchasing a tester. At that time, I couldn't think of anything else. But now, as a longtime fan, admirer, and most importantly, a longtime consumer of French perfumes (since the late 80s), I can say that suddenly many previously familiar and well-studied fragrances have become less long-lasting. I regularly come across negative reviews. I see myself and my emotions reflected in other reviews regarding the lack of longevity. I think it's not the store's fault, but rather changes in the fragrance formulas. But the fact remains. So... I've put Shalimar in a corner for now – maybe a miracle will happen, and it will improve???? For now, that's all I can hope for. My rating is based on the lack of longevity!

I received this wonderful fragrance yesterday! Makeup, thank you for the original at an affordable price! According to the batch code, it was made in September 2019.

My first impression of the scent and the bottle is that it smells expensive and sophisticated. It somehow reminds me of the fragrant atmosphere in duty-free shops, a mix of everything in one bottle.

I applied it to the bend of my arm and, like many others, initially smelled rubber (which lasted for about 20 minutes). Gradually, the scent started to unfold with spices and a pronounced incense note. By the end of the day, only a powdery scent remained.

It is very long-lasting.

I was afraid it would be overwhelming in the +33 degree weather outside, but it turned out to be the opposite. The fragrance envelops you.

Shalimar needs to be understood. It's not for the faint-hearted, but for the especially gifted. It won't suit everyone.

I will add to my review. The fragrance is reminiscent of the Art Deco style of the 1920s. It evokes the image of a lady in an evening gown from the 1920s, smoking a long cigarette in a billiard room. That's what this fragrance is all about!
