This masterpiece of perfumery art was created in 1912 by Jacques Guerlain. The perfume belongs to the floral fragrances category, yet it features such a rich composition, including woody and spicy shades, that it should not be simply regarded as a typical floral bouquet.
The initial notes greet us with spicy anise and coriander combined with bright, juicy citrus – bergamot, lemon, and neroli, which then give way to a vast variety of floral shades. The heart of the perfume contains scents of carnation, orchid, jasmine, neroli, heliotrope, ylang-ylang, and Bulgarian rose. About the scent: It is a beautiful, perfectly composed fragrance. Only a skilled perfumer like Jacques Guerlain could fill the bottle with the aroma of a June Parisian evening and the fragrance of flowers. It is true what they say: perfume is emotions in a bottle. For me, it is undoubtedly a masterpiece. Now I want it in a perfume water version.
