It does a great job of coloring my dyed hair! And it has absolutely no effect on the roots, where my natural light brown color is. I can easily maintain the red shade of my hair with the help of this mask, and as for the roots, I leave that to the colorist.
I occasionally use the toning mask to tone the lightened strands near my face. While the beige shade gave a slight tint even with a long exposure time, this caramel one gave a saturated carrot color effect. During subsequent hair washing procedures, the foam is tinted orange. So, this caramel shade is more like a reddish/carrot hue. As for the care aspect, the mask is superb.
This product is odorless. I have natural light brown hair, and it did not change the shade at all. Even after using a cheap shampoo tonic from another brand, there was more effect than with this product. It's a shame that I wasted my money on it.
