Semi-permanent hair dyes are the perfect choice for those who have decided to adjust or change their hair color for the first time. These are simple, harmless, ready-to-use products that gradually wash out with shampoo and completely disappear after 6 to 12 washes. This type of dye does not contain ammonia and hydrogen peroxide - substances that are often found in hair dyes.
Directions is a temporary hair dye by La Riche with a creamy texture, odorless, with no need to mix components - it is completely ready for use, safe for hair, and lasts well from 2 to 4 weeks. The product washes out gradually; it will wash out faster on damaged, brittle, porous hair.
This semi-permanent hair dye emphasizes and enhances the natural color, making it much more vibrant and brighter without lightening the hair, and also has a conditioning effect.
ATTENTION! To achieve the most vivid color, hair must be pre-lightened to the maximum, on natural light hair the dye may only give a subtle tint, and dyeing unbleached black hair will not yield any results. The use of balms and conditioners interferes with the dye fixing, resulting in a less vibrant color. To preserve the color longer, add a small amount of dye to your shampoo, the use of anti-dandruff shampoos, medicinal shampoos, etc., is not recommended.
1. Before dyeing, wash your hair with a pH-balanced shampoo, towel dry. It is not recommended to use balms, rinses, hair lotions a day before dyeing.
2. Transfer the necessary amount of dye into a plastic container. For short hair, half the volume is sufficient, for long hair, the entire contents of the jar may be needed.
3. When dyeing, use protective gloves (preferably those that fit snugly to your hands, not the usual loose gloves that often come with the dyes). To avoid dyeing the skin of your face and ears, grease them with petroleum jelly or baby oil, but make sure it does not get on the hair, otherwise, the dye will not take properly. For a more even application of dye, it is advisable to use a special brush.
4. Apply the dye to the hair at a distance of 3-4 cm from the scalp and distribute evenly to the ends. Start dyeing from the back of the head, making sure the hair is evenly saturated with the dye.
5. After application, thoroughly comb your hair until the dye foams, indicating that the hair has fully absorbed the dye. Lighter shades may require longer combing.
6. Leave the dye on the hair for 30-60 minutes or longer, depending on the desired intensity of color. The dyes do not contain ammonia, so they do not damage the hair! Note that lighter shades require more exposure time. Using a climazon will reduce the processing time to 15-30 minutes and may lead to a brighter and more lasting color.
7. Rinse your hair under running water, avoiding getting strands on your face and in your eyes, for better color fixation rinse your hair with a vinegar solution (mix equal parts of white vinegar and water, apply to your hair and comb it through, leave the mixture on your hair for 1-2 minutes, then rinse under running water).
8. Dry your hair.

The only downside of this hair dye is that it starts to fade quickly, around 3-4 washes after applying it to my hair. :(
We purchased three cans at once for a complete dye job. It was applied easily and when washed off, the water was clear. The color was very vibrant. However, after 3 days, the color simply washed out. It's not very visible in the photo, but the majority of the hair was left with a bleached color. Extremely disappointed!
I couldn't find any reviews on the Ebony shade, so I'll leave photos before and after using this dye. I apologize for the background and possibly unsuccessful angle.
To be honest, I am not satisfied with the result. My intention was to try a semi-permanent black color because I was tired of vibrant dyeing. Instead, I got green roots (natural roots and the temple area turn warm) and hair with an uncovered violet color. Not a very successful combination in my opinion.
It's also strange that I ordered two jars, one came as 100ml and the other as 88ml. They are the same shade, just different packaging. I'm grateful for the free couple of grams of makeup.
Be prepared that this dye will stain your entire bathroom. The bathtub will be both blue and eggplant-colored. It's very strange how it washes out, when you simply rinse your hair with water, the color turns eggplant, but when you use shampoo, it becomes a saturated blue. I understood that the dye would have an undertone, but this was an interesting experiment.
I have doubts that it will look good even on blondes.
I chose the Neon Blue color. The color is wonderful, everything looks bright and beautiful, but oh my, it fades so easily. It's terrible. Everything gets stained in that blue hue. After washing my hands, ears, neck, clothes, and nails multiple times, it's still there. I can't even scratch an itch peacefully because the dye stays on my hands. No, this is too much.
I have something to compare it with in the same price category. And I can say that this paint is terrible. The pigment doesn't apply evenly. Even on a perfectly bleached base. I don't recommend it to those who want to dye all of their hair, not just strands.
I purchased the Wisteria shade of foundation. What can I say? The instructions state that it works better on bleached hair, but it doesn't mention that it won't work at all on natural hair. Now I look like a leopard, girls! Ready for the weekend!
I tried it for the first time. The hair was beautifully dyed, but there is only one downside - it stains the towel after washing my head (so I have to immediately dry it with a hairdryer). It is an economical consumption for me because I have "hidden coloring" and my hair is below shoulder length. To achieve the desired result, I kept it on my hair for 1 hour. To be honest, after reading negative reviews here, I thought it wouldn't work.
The vermillion red shade has a perfect crimson hue, without any pinkish or fuchsia undertones. I consistently choose this shade as it is the best crimson color I have personally tried across multiple brands.
I really liked the paint overall. I chose the Alpine Green shade, and there are both positives and negatives.
+ The jar is visually small, but it is used economically. It took about 3/4 of the jar for my shoulder-length fluffy hair.
+ It really has no smell.
+ There is a wide palette of unusual shades.
+ The color is rich, although personally, I find this shade too blue, but still nice.
+ Immediately after dyeing, I had a good impression, just like coming out of a salon.
+ Both highlighted strands and all hair were dyed, just as I wanted, so my dark brown color was covered.
+ It does not dry out the hair.
+ The delivery was fine.
- In reality, the paint in the jar is dark turquoise, and the result looks more blue than green, especially outside where it appears as a bright blue. Then it starts to unevenly fade into a more greenish shade. It's a shame that after the first wash, there are patches. Now I have warm green and almost blue in different areas, even though the base is uniform and clean. I understand that it will probably fade from the unbleached strands on the fourth or fifth wash.
- During the washing off process, there is an endless flow of heavily saturated water, and even when washing the hair, the bathtub gets heavily and persistently stained.
- Completely dried hair heavily stains the pillowcase, and one wash does not remove the stain. It's summer now, and if I go out with my hair down in 25-27°C, my neck, shoulders, a thin layer on my face, and the neckline of my shirt get stained.
- With such drawbacks regarding wearability, the price is quite high (399 UAH, not from the EU). There are no gloves included, and the instructions on the lid are small. It was inconvenient for me that I couldn't immediately use a brush if the jar was wider, or I had to find a very narrow brush. I would also like an explanation as to why the instructions on the lid state not to use conditioner/balm, even though the paint does not dry out the hair. It would have been nice to revive it a little.
I will see how it fades, and I think I can prevent the pillow issue by knowing and wearing my hair up for the first few washes. The staining on the body will probably go away. If it didn't dye everything at once, it would have been 5 stars. I will probably buy it again, I really liked the comment with the lime yellow-green result a bit lower, so I want to try the same. I will update my review later.
I have been using this hair dye for a long time and I really like it. The color is always vibrant and it lasts on my hair for 2-3 weeks.
I have been using denim blue and mixing it with gray Anthocyanin. The resulting color is a steel shade, not tacky, and it lasts for a long time. The quality is superb considering its price. The most important thing is that the base is well lit, without any yellowness, so it will fade into a beautiful blue shade. Therefore, I recommend getting your hair lightened by a professional and then toning it at home, as it is the perfect option.
I tried Atlantic Blue for a long time and it was the only color I used. However, it faded to green. When I ran out of makeup in that shade, I decided to try Wisterid, but it didn't work at all. It was a waste of money.
I dyed my daughter's strands using this hair dye, and it adhered well to her dark, unbleached hair. We chose the shade Tangerine and left it on for an hour.
Girls! This dye is great, but it comes in different variations. When I first started using it, oh how nervous I was. But I had no choice because I had a severe allergy to chemical dye (I had been using black dye for about 15 years). From my experience, I can say the following. Make sure to wash off the masks and conditioners from your hair, as they seem to have a cumulative effect. It works well on your natural and uncolored hair. Cool dark shades work better. It fades quickly for me, so I maintain the color every two weeks. I don't use conditioners or masks. One jar is enough for three applications. I tried coloring my hair with Rosstonic before (not the same wild plum I used to dye my hair a long time ago), but I ended up throwing it away and sticking with this dye.
The shade "Rubine" looked very nice on unbleached red hair. It washed out evenly after almost a month and a half. I left it on for 40 minutes.
Unfortunately, the wisteria color did not take well on lightened hair. However, the turquoise and midnight blue shades were fantastic! They applied smoothly and lasted a long time. From this, I conclude that this brand is not suitable for pastel shades, but their vibrant colors are great.
Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. My hair was lightened beforehand, but the dye did not take at all. The color is wisteria.
I bought this hair dye because there were many reviews about it. Before dyeing, I bleached my hair. The dye stayed on for an hour and even longer. However, the dye didn't take at all. I do not recommend it.
The color is simply chic - exactly what I needed.
The color is amazing!
Fantastic tonic! I purchased Alpine Green. The color is rich (much better than Colorist's shade - tried it, it's awful), pleasant to use, and it lasts well. What pleasantly surprised me is that after 15 minutes of applying it to the hair, it doesn't stain anything (probably a reaction occurs). I recommend using it with foil - the color becomes brighter.
I have been using this paint for many years and I really like it. It lasts a long time and applies evenly.
I bought the shade Lagoon Blue, but the dye didn't take well. It feels like it might be expired. I couldn't find the production date or expiration date. How is that even possible? Because I previously bought the Turquoise shade and it applied perfectly to my hair. The consistency of the two dyes is clearly different. This one seemed to turn into gel. It's annoying when they sell products like this.
Review of the YELLOW dye.
On a clean lightened base, it did NOT take! It washed out almost back to its original state. It's still tolerable at the roots, but further down it's just some white apple, barely yellow. I followed the instructions.
I have colored with this brand before, but yellow for the first time (what a disappointment). The liquid was very poorly pigmented, almost like garbage.
BUT it could be a question for the makeup! Missing items have started to seep through from improper storage! The smell of expired cosmetics, a rancid smell of essential oils, swollen jars. In every recent order of mine, there have been such items. I've started sending everything back with the courier! Check!
My trust in the website is rapidly declining.
I purchased a platinum toner to achieve the effect of white hair. I applied it myself to multiple times bleached strands. The color turned out slightly uneven, but it wasn't too noticeable because the top hair was a beautiful white shade and covered the slightly noticeable yellowish tone at the back of my head. The color lasts for almost a month, but I use a "Silver" shampoo to prevent any yellowing. My hair feels soft and smooth, pleasant to touch, after using the dye.
The paint arrived quickly and easily. There are different options for delivery, which is very convenient. The cerise color, in my opinion, looks great, especially when mixed with a balm.
I tried the Carnation Pink shade and it lasted for about two months. When it faded, it turned into a lovely pastel pink shade, which I was really pleased with. However, the size of the container is quite small. To achieve full coverage, you will need 2-3 containers depending on the length of your hair.
I purchased the Alpine Green and I am pleased with the results.
I have used several jars of this paint. I started with Flamingo Pink, but for some reason, it didn't last long. Then I switched to Carnation, which lasted longer. At the end of December, I dyed my hair with Turquoise, Violet, and Carnation Pink - in strands. And let me tell you, it is still holding up, even though February is almost over! I honestly don't know how to wash it out. All the advice about using sulfate shampoo and washing my hair with hot water - none of it works at all! The Turquoise and Violet colors stay pastel, but you can't see the pink anymore.
As for durability, I have a theory that the dye doesn't hold well on over-processed hair, which was the case when I started using Flamingo. The pigment in the dye is vibrant and supposed to last long, but back then, my hair was over-bleached, so there was simply no place for the pigment to hold onto. That's how it was.
I regret my purchase. It's too small for the price. The durability is low. If you don't have extra money for experiments, I don't recommend it. ;-)
I really liked the hair dye! I bought two colors: atlantic blue and cerise. The pink one turned out great on my lightened hair, while the blue one was slightly less impressive, just as I expected. I've been using a shampoo for colored hair and so far, after three washes, the dye still looks the same. Only the blue color has become slightly lighter.
Finally, I got the desired hair color! I chose the shade Carnation Pink. The bleached hair turns out bright, just like the paint in the jar itself. However, after the first wash, the color fades and becomes softer. The only unpleasant thing is that with my medium density shoulder-length hair, one jar barely sufficed. Therefore, it's better to order two right away and be at ease.
The paint is good, with a great variety of colors to choose from, and it doesn't damage the hair much. The only downside is that after a week, the brightness starts to fade.
I bought two shades, cherry and lavender. The first thing I want to draw attention to is the lavender paint jar, which had a crack at the bottom. Unfortunately, I noticed this at home as I didn't have time to check it at the delivery point, so I recommend inspecting it immediately upon delivery.
Now, let's talk about the paint itself. I haven't used lavender yet. I used the cerise paint according to the instructions, kept it on for an hour under plastic wrap and a towel. The lightened hair ends (bleached) turned out to be very bright in color. I wash my hair every day (using Chi Keratin shampoo and conditioner), and it seems like the color doesn't really want to fade. In my opinion, the consumption is quite economical, unless you're dyeing all of your hair or have long hair. I have an elongated bob and the dye was applied approximately halfway down.
The paint is amazing, it was applied to lightened ends. I used the color Alpine Green, it's a splendid shade.
The shade Lilac is absolutely terrible. The hair dye doesn't evenly adhere to the hair, and some areas didn't get colored at all. I will never purchase it again.
Great paint, leaves hair shiny and well-groomed.
I've tried:
Violet - excellent, rich, lasts 2 months or even longer, currently the most long-lasting violet shade.
Neon Blue - fully lives up to its name, depending on the lighting it can appear neon blue or violet. Washes out into a pleasant grayish-blue color, and eventually into a minty shade, not a swampy mess like most blues.
Silver - complete disappointment, doesn't take on heavily lightened hair at all, doesn't even leave a subtle tint, this color is a waste of money.
Great mask. The color on my hair lasted a very long time, much longer than other toners, it was more like a permanent dye. I chose the Midnight Blue shade, a very beautiful dark blue color. (I previously bleached my hair and then toned it) It gradually washed out to a light blue shade, but it took a long time to fade.
This paint is really cool and relatively inexpensive. I used the colors Lilac and Alpine Green. The green color, although it doesn't stay in its original form (emerald) for long, has been with me for 2 months now, albeit in different shades. It is easy to use, although it is difficult to remove if it gets on the plumbing. And my hair is soft after using it, just like after a hair mask.
Excellent paint. It can be applied to lightened hair and surprisingly lasts up to 2 months. It doesn't stain clothes, towels, or bed linen. It also nourishes the hair. It is the most long-lasting out of all the brands I have tried (and I have tried around 20 different brands). I use the Violet color. Special thanks to the makeup store for the fast delivery and the surprise :)
