Of course, the soap fulfills its primary task, that is, it cleanses the skin, but in addition to this, it also moisturizes, nourishes, and softens it. I didn't like the soap, firstly because it doesn't have a melon scent at all, and I was really hoping for it... Secondly, after washing my hands, they feel squeaky like they do when using cheap dish soap... It's disappointing.
